Before I launch into the details of the project I am posting today, I would like to welcome my new followers and thank you for leaving such kind comments. It would be lovely if you will continue to follow my Blog as I hope it will develop as we progress through 2017.
The card I am showing today has been created using stamps from Leonie Pujol's Entwined Stamp Collection - Dizzy Daisy and is available to purchase from Crafter's Companion
It is actually a very simple card that took me ages to make! I have only used 3 small stamps from the collection for the main element of the card. Firstly I stamped the full daisy head in a circle and then an inner circle with the smaller daisy head and a spray of leaves. I then stamped the full daisy head several times on a scrap of card and fussy cut each one to decoupage over those already stamped in a circle - and that's the part that took me so long as I am not very speedy with a pair of scissors! The colouring has been done with alcohol markers and the sentiment created using two stamps from the same collection. Simple mat and layering to finish.

In my last post I mentioned that I was going to play with WOW Powders at a workshop run by our local craft shop. So, today I have decided to show you what we made.
We were each given a set of 4 powders in complimentary colours and these were ours to take home at the end of the day. It was 'the luck of the draw' which colour palette we had to work with but we could also add extra colours to our projects from the craft shop stash, which extended our scope.
The bird on this project is covered with a WOW premium glitter called Sparkles and the colour I have used is Jade. This was pressed firmly on to the double sided sticky sheet that had already been applied to the shape. Before fixing to the substrate, to ensure the glitter doesn't shed, I always fold a sheet of paper in half, enclose the glittered item inside the paper and give it a good old burnish with my fingers, making sure of course that every bit of the sticky sheet covering it, has been coated with glitter first!
The bird cage shape was pressed into an embossing ink pad and when it was thoroughly inked a graduation of different embossing powders were applied and then heated.
Before adhering to the project, the paper roses have been tapped on to an embossing ink pad and edged with Opaque Primary Process Blue embossing powder and then heated to melt the powder. The same colour has been used to emboss the stamped flowers on the side panel of the project. This blue is my least favourite from my allocation of powders as it is a much stronger colour than I would have chosen. In a future project, I think I will try mixing it with some white embossing powder and see if it tones it down. Another excuse to play with colour!
The heart shape on this project has had circles of foil pressed onto the sticky sheet that covers it and the remaining exposed sticky area covered with Jade Sparkles. I would like to try this in different colours, perhaps by applying circles of gold foiling and then a red glitter instead of Jade.
The final card of the day was a quick and easy one using a background stamp and two different embossing powders, Under The Sea and Avocado.
Other powders used on these projects are Perissa and Fairy Tale.
It was certainly a most enjoyable and sparkly day - I'm sure that I left a trail of glitter all the way to the bus stop!

I would like to begin by welcoming all my new followers who have found me courtesy of the kind introduction Barb has given me on her Blog. Thank you all for visiting and also for your lovely comments. I will of course be looking out for your Blogs and following your work. It is lovely to 'meet' you all.
My card today is created using a digi stamp taken from a Katy Sue Designs CD called Shaggy Dog Tails.
I have taken the image into a graphics program and re-sized it to suit the size of the card I wanted to make. I have used alcohol markers to do the colouring, not that there was a great deal required! For a background I have used an embossing folder, some black card and a die cut square to mat and layer. The final touches are a sentiment and a couple of small flowers I found in my 'bits box'.

It's a busy time for me at the moment as apart from making samples for some up-coming shows (more about that in a later post), I also have a place booked tomorrow on an all day WOW Embossing Powders course at Loobi Crafts which I am really looking forward to. So if you happen to be in driving distance of Leighton Buzzard, I think there may be a space or two on the repeat workshop this Saturday - it's bound to be sparkly!

Before I post my latest project I would like to welcome my latest follower Barb, who I met for the first time a few months ago at a craft workshop. I think it is lovely to make new friends and feel part of a community through crafting. Welcome Barb!
Now for my first post in 2017.
Recently I saw some lovely stamps from Chocolate Baroque on Hochanda TV and it motivated me to dig out my stash of stamps from this lovely company.
The main image is from the Fragrant Honeysuckle set which is still available on the Chocolate Baroque website. I have stamped on white cardstock using a grey ink pad, Memento London Fog. I wanted to keep the outline subtle as I didn't want too much of a stark contrast with the colours I had chosen. I started with alchohol markers but when I had finished colouring I wasn't really happy with the blending or contrast of colours that I had achieved so I used my Spectrum Noir pencils to add more depth of colour.
The card is finished by layering with dark blue card, some co-ordinating backing paper and a bit of lace and ribbon and few adhesive pearls.

Hi Folks,
I am really getting into the festive spirit in the run up to Christmas. On Monday I enjoyed a flying visit from some very special friends who now live in Norfolk as they were visiting this area. There was so much to talk about and not enough time to cram it all in, so we have promised each other to keep in closer touch next year.
On Friday I had a lovely lunch with some chums from my writing group and for once I didn't have to feel guilty about not having written anything as the focus was on the food and good company. Another promise for next year......must write more!
I've also had a busy couple of weeks playing catch-up and getting ready for Christmas at home. Mince pies and chestnut sausage rolls are now made and are in the freezer. Goodies with a long shelf life have been purchased and there are only a few odds and ends left on my presents list still to buy - okay, so I haven't wrapped anything yet but that's a job for next week. I have had a marathon session making quick and easy cards which now gives me a more immediate task of writing on them and getting them in the post.
Before they disappear from the radar I would like to share just a few samples with you. I have used some of my favourite stamps from a variety of suppliers and coloured with watercolour pens and pencils - so this is just a quick peek at some of the fifty odd cards I have made. There is nothing spectacular here but that is batch making for you!

Hello Folks
Another week has slipped by and once again I wonder where the time goes. The other day one of my friends rather cheekily suggested that I need to go on a time-management course. At my age indeed! I don't think it is a question of managing my time but more a case of me trying to cram too many things into each day. Most of it is fun stuff so I am not complaining!
At this time of year, living in the countryside I miss the green and golden fields of summer which have been replaced by the ploughed brown earth of winter. So today I have decided to post a little reminder of days gone by when ploughing was a much tougher job but probably a more tranquil one, without the use of heavy farm machinery but just the gentle plod of the horses hooves and the jingle of their harness.
Using a Stamp Addicts stamp set Gypsy Caravan No. 2, I have stamped on watercolour card and coloured with a combination of distress inks using a blending tool and watercolour pens. The scarecrow is from the same stamp set which I have also watercoloured and then cut out and mounted with foam pads, offset to the side of the card. Finally I have sneaked in a rabbit from a Hobby Art stamp set Fawn & Flora CS046D. I must admit to being a huge fan of Hobby Art Stamps as not only do their stamp sets feature main images that can be used as the focal point on a card but they also provide lots of handy little additions like this one. I hope you like it.
