Belle Flower
Stamping is my first love and I couldn't resist these lovely stamps from Chocolate Baroque when I saw them a couple of years ago.
I have stamped the background image with black Versafine ink and then cut a square from the centre. This inner square has been coloured using a combination of watercolour paints and pencils and placed on a slightly larger mat of black card, then positioned over the original stamped image which I have left as black and white.
I have stamped and cut out the words and a honey bee that has been coloured and a bit of sparkle added to the wings, although I don't think this shows up very well in the photo. These additional pieces have been mounted on to the card using foam pads. Finally I've mounted the whole thing on to another mat of black card.
All the stamps used are from Chocolate Baroque and are called 'Big Bold Background Belle Flowers Single' and 'Honey Bee.'

I love the stamps Anne and your card is a real beauty. A different and interesting way to spotlight your stamp and the colours are so pretty. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteWhat an exquisite card Anne. Love the delicate colours on the centre panel and the gorgeous bee hovering over the flowers!

Oh Anne this card is truly a work or art, so agree with you on Stamping being your first love, I'd just add embossed stamping. I rarely use non embossed images that are stamped. Love it the colours are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your inspiration!

Your spring coloring is fantastic, Anne! This is a perfect stamp for the spotlight technique and the black matting is super! You asked what dies and machine I used for my cards I just posted. The stitched dies are from My Favorite Things and the cross-stitch die is from Memory Box. I use a Big Shot. I think the paper matters, too. These flowers were embossed on a Strathmore "Mixed Media" paper which takes watercoloring and impressions very well. Let me know if you need more information! Hugs, Darnell

This is so cool! I love the delicate outlines in black and white. Then there is the panel that you framed that you colored in. Your coloring is fabulous!
